The 2026 ADSJ Advanced Institute will again be held in conjunction with the Kentuckiana Cluster of dog shows on March 11 through 15 at the Kentucky Fair and Exhibition Center in Louisville, KY. This will be a five-day Institute, a departure from our four-day Institute. This new time frame allows us to present 15 breeds in each group offered.

Since 2015 the scope of our program has focused on the breeds in two groups each year. The educational format first introduced by the ADSJ Advanced Institute in 1995, of breed seminars reinforced by hands-on workshops will remain the same. As in the past, the quality and depth of the educational experience is enhanced by expert presenters, quality dogs and limited class size.

For 2026, we will be offering 15 Hound and 15 Working breed presentations. Meals and lodging are on your own which allows us to keep our registration fees at a bargain level for ADSJ members. In the 2026 Institute, it is expected that the classes will fill to capacity levels in a very short time and we may not be able to accommodate all of the judges that may have hoped to attend the Institute. Therefore, as in recent years, once a class has reached maximum number of attendees, other judges wishing to attend will be offered a chance to register for up to twenty seats as a seminar only participant. Consistent with AKC and Institute policy, those judges will only be allowed to attend the seminar portion of the Institute and will not be allowed to participate in the hands-on workshops. Please remember that this policy will only be initiated once the class for the full program has reached capacity. Registrants on the seminar only list also constitute the waiting list for the full program should there be any cancellations in the full program

Beginning on February 1, 2026, judges who may not need most of the breeds offered in a group class may register for individual breeds on a space available basis. The fee will be $100.00 per breed and will entitle the individual to full participation in both the breed seminar and workshop.
